Community Grants
The Angels Over Sandpoint seeks to enhance the lives of the citizens of Bonner County through its support of charitable and educational institutions. The Angels Over Sandpoint give primary consideration to non-profit organizations involved in health, education and youth-oriented projects and services.
The Grant Process
- The Community Grants Program awards grants of $250 to $2500.
- Grant requests are accepted twice annually by March 15 and September 15.
- Grant applications will be considered by the Board of Directors the following month. Applicants will benotified by mail regarding the status of their application within 30 days of the Board considering their application.
- Submitting an application does not guarantee funding. The Board of Directors of the Angels Over Sandpoint reserves the right to award grants at its sole discretion and to adjust the amount awarded to each organization without prior notice.
Prerequisites for Consideration
Organizations eligible to apply must meet one of the following criteria:
- An organization holding a current tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3), (4), (6) or (19) of the Internal Revenue Code;
- A recognized government entity: State, County, or City Agency, including law enforcement or firedepartments, that are requesting funds exclusively for charitable purposes;
- A Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 public or private school, charter school, community/junior college,state/private college or university;
- A church or other faith-based organization with a proposed project that benefits the community at large;
- or, a Children and/or Youth program.
All organizations applying for a grant must be located in and provide service to Bonner County residents.
Angels Over Sandpoint will NOT accept requests for:
- Operational Support
- Annual Support
- Support for projects outside of Bonner County, Idaho
- Support for individuals
Grant Instructions
The following instructions are designed to answer any questions you may have about the Angels Over Sandpoint Grant Application Form. The application is intend to be short and simple. You may attach exhibits. Please note: Incomplete applications will not be considered. Include an abstract (150 word maximum) summarizing the objectives of your organization’s request. We encourage you to address at a minimum the following points in your abstract:
- The mission of your organization;
- The objectives of your project and how it will serve a need in the community or Bonner County;
- The impact of your project, how many people will be served; and
- The amount you are requesting and exactly what the funds will be used for plus the total cost of theproject.
- Describe the project for which you are requesting financial support. Your description should tell exactly what will take place, who will participate, when it will happen, where it will happen, how long it is expected to continue and what the expected outcome will be. Please detail the cost of items you plan to purchase with this grant.
- Explain why this project is important, who will benefit and how the project helps the community.
- Describe the experience your organization has had in carrying out similar projects and why the organization is capable of success.
- Angels Over Sandpoint will provide seed money for worthwhile new projects. How will you continue to support this project after the initial grant?
- Describe the ways you will recognize the contributors to the project.
Grant Reporting
All successful grantees shall provide a report to the Angels Over Sandpoint detailing how the money was
expended, including receipts, and the impact the project had on the community. Reports should be received prior to the next grant cycle deadline (March 15 for fall grants or September 15 for spring grants).

Fill out the grant application form completely and submit it to the Angels Over Sandpoint.
